Our Colors are inspired by Mediterranean Walls and spaces, old Finca’s and farmhouses with a historic, warm and authentic appearance. Culte is produced in the Netherlands by a small factory run by a family since 1900. When developing new paint products, we try to find a balance between the quality and durability of the paint and its impact on people and the environment. Fast drying so that painted areas can be used immediately.
The first thing to consider is lighting. A poorly lit room will appear brighter, bigger, and more open when painted a light paint color. Larger rooms can be made to feel a little cozier when painted a darker paint color. Small rooms will have a more dramatic feel when painted darker colors. Paint colors really have a lot to do with the mood you want to evoke in a room as well as your personal style.
Even if you feel determined that you have chosen the right color, it is worth your time and money to buy our color cards and test it out in your room. The color can look a bit different in your home than they will appear online. Rather than painting small patches all over your room, take your chosen colors and tape it to your wall. You can move them around the room in order to see how your color acts in different lighting situations.
Our Color Cards are hand-painted and come in a large A5 format Color Card to make it easy to get a good feel how the colors will appear on the wall.
Our Matt paint can be applied using traditional brushes or rollers, depending on the desired final appearance. Rollers provide a smooth uniform finish on well-prepared walls, whereas paint brushes can be useful for edging and uneven surfaces. Our Stucco Finish is applied using a larger block brush.
Your first step to prep a space for painting is to remove all the furniture. If the room is large enough, furniture can be placed in the center of the room. Next, take everything off the walls. If there are holes in the walls, fill in the holes before painting.
Coverage per m2 is calculated on one coat and dependent on surface and thickness of application. 1 Liter = 8m2
Culte Matt is a beautiful smooth Wall Finish with a high scrub class. Perfect for kitchen walls, staircases, hallways and workspaces.
Application on stucco, wind-dry concrete, plaster, wood wool cement and board plates, Various types of wallpaper, glass fabric and glass fleece. Good adhering, water-resistant, existing dispersion wall paint layers, which have been thoroughly degreased and cleaned.
Apply Culte Matt with a paint roller or a block blush for a smooth and even finish.
Our Matt & Stucco finish are suitable for a high humidity environment. Do not apply directly to the wet cell. For the bathroom we advise our Matt Finish: Culte Matt is a cleanable and scrub resistant finish (scrub class 1) that makes it easy to remove dirt and stains.
When used in humid areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens, care should be taken that old wall paint layers are water-resistant and preferably vapour permeable. The water resistance can be checked by wetting the old paint layer with water and checking with a sharp object whether it becomes soft or loose.
Water rings, nicotine stains or other areas sensitive to emulsion paints must be insulated.
You can easily use our Stucco & Matt Finish in the kitchen. Our Matt Finish is washable and scrub resistant (scrub class 1) and perfect to use for the kitchen. When you use the Stucco Finish for the kitchen, we advise you to add a matt protection to protect the Stucco Finish against dirt and stains. The grainy structure in our Stucco Finish makes the layer a bit harder to clean.
The layers you apply depend on the surface and the amount of paint you use. With a normal surface, one layer is sufficient. With the Stucco Finish you can mix a second layer with 10% water. Every wall is different. See if the paint covers well or if a second coat is needed.
Our Wall Paints dry quickly (2-3 hours) so that the painted areas can be used immediately.
Our Paint is save to use. When developing new products, we try to find a balance between quality and sustainability and the impact on people and the environment. Our Wall Paints are Water-Based and responsible produced in the Netherlands.
You can keep the paint about one year. Store preferably in a dry, cool place. Store absolutely frost-free.
Application is possible on wood if degreased and cleaned. Repair imperfections and cracks with a suitable repair agent. Remove the surface from contaminants such as dirt, grease and dust. Prime highly absorbent surfaces if necessary. Remove existing, poorly adhering paint layers as completely as possible.
Our Matt Finish can be applied to the wall with a roller or a block brush. For our Stucco Finish we advise to only use a block brush to create the effect you want.
Our Wall Paints are water-based and safe to use. If you are very sensitive to paint it is still best to be careful when the paint is exposed to the skin for a longer period of time.
Culte has not, and never will commission or support animal testing. All our paint finishes are free from any animal derived products. We always source the highest quality materials with our environmental and ethical values in mind.
Our paints are water-based and easy to clean. Make sure you rinse them directly after finishing painting to make it easier to rinse all the paint out of the brushes/rollers.
